Solid Modelling

Solid Modelling is the creation of computer models in which "complete" definitions of physical objects are created. The resulting 3D model is based on solids and parameters rather than geometry only.

Some of the advantages of using solid modelling:

  • Saves money by allowing very fast design development and evolution
  • Provides mass, centre of gravity, moments and products of inertia and volumes of parts and assemblies
  • Easily generates manufacturing drawings from solid models
  • Most machine shops can import solid models directly into CAM packages for CNC machining.
  • Further analysis can be performed directly on the solid model
  • Effective tool for quickly assessing designs and identifying areas for design improvements
  • Predicts static deformation on sensitively aligned components

We also provide Solid Edge training for all levels of expertise, at our fully equipped training facility, or at customer's own premises.

Voyager Program

Design Paradigm are members of the Solid Edge Voyager program. The Voyager Program is designed to establish mutually successful relationships between UGS, Solid Edge and third-party software and hardware providers.
