Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)

The Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC (PED) became mandatory for most pressure equipment and assemblies placed on the market within the EU on 29th May 2002.

The PED is implemented in the UK as the Pressure Equipment Regulations:1999 (SI1999 No. 2000), which stipulates legal requirements. Failure to comply is a criminal offence.
